Geocache Description:

Please note the date for the event is Oct 15

Time: 5pm to 9pm

Acorn has been so gracious as to invite all of us ghosts, ghouls, goblins, witches, warlocks, trolls, etc. up to his humble abode for some tasty treats and frightening frights.

Bring the Geo-typical potluck faire but receive extra Goblin Points for giving your dish a gruesome name such as: Tendons and Eyes for spaghetti and meatballs, or Bat Kidneys in BBQ sauce for baked beans, or Deviled Eggs could be Witch’s … well, you get the idea. The most frightful (must be edible) dish will get a prize.

Kilts welcome but remember there will be a costume contest as well so come prepared, we don't want to scare the faint of heart.

For the safety of the pets and the ghouls etc. please no pets.

Contests/Events

Costume Contest
Our ghoulish organizers have requested that you attend the event in costume. If you do not have a costume, one will likely be provided for you by our Minister of Fright (don't let this happen to you!). At 6:30 an esteemed panel of impartial judges will select winners in various categories and will award fantastic prizes. Those less fortunate will endure unimaginable horrors for the rest of the evening.

Pin the Tail on the Coordinates
All of you Master geocachers—during the first half of the evening, you will be challenged to place a marker closest to a set of coordinates. Fiendish prizes will be awarded to the winner.

Pumpkin Piñata
After dinner, younger cachers will have an opportunity to challenge our piñata to see if it will give up its treasure, or will the piñata take its vengeance on them!

Gruesome Grub
Prizes will be awarded for Most Horrifying Name and Most Stomach Searing Presentation (MUST be edible!). This will be judged just prior to dinner.

Carved Pumpkin Contest
Show off those creative skills by bringing a PRE-CARVED pumpkin for our contest. After dinner, our judges will be in a more creative state of mind and will award several prizes.

In RCGDS tradition, the event will be potluck style. Bring your own “entrée” and beverage, as well as something to share with the group. Paper products, flatware and cups will be provided. We won’t be cooking/barbequing at the event, so please bring everything “ready to eat”.

Chairs will be in short supply so please bring one with you!

To help offset costs, we’re also going to have a small “Garage sale”. If you would like to donate small items that could use a new home, bring them with you and price them to sell! All money collected will be used to offset the cost of decorations, supplies and prizes. Any surplus will be placed in the RCGDS Kitty to help pay for future events.

This event will be held at a private residence, in a residential area. Please plan and act accordingly and respect the neighbors’ property and privacy. Parking is somewhat limited, so consider carpooling and do not park in restricted areas.
