"Turmpeilung" soll bedeuten, daß es gilt, den Punkt zu
finden, wo zwei Türme genau in einer Linie hintereinander
liegen.
Bei "Turmpeilung weltlich" geht es darum, den Funkturm am
Betzenberg (N 48° 37´, E 9° 9´, rechts im Bild
"Towers out of line") so über dem Wasserturm bei
Altdorf/Holzgerlingen (N 48° 38´, E 9° 0´,
links im Bild "Towers out of line") zu sehen, dass der erstere wie
die Antenne des zweiten erscheint (siehe Bild "Peilung").
Es gibt tatsächlich nur einen Punkt, auf dem diese Peilung
richtig funktioniert und der mitten auf einem Weg liegt. Das ist
zwar nur ein Feldweg ohne jegliche Befestigung, aber der Punkt ist
problemlos zu erreichen. Ihr braucht die Koordinaten dieses
Punktes, um die des Final zu berechnen. Die Ostkoordinate ist nicht
ganz eindeutig zu bestimmen. Wenn Ihr vor Ort den Punkt bestimmt
habt, dann findet Ihr in der Umgebung einige Schilder wie auf dem
folgenden Bild. Die letzte Ziffer des Ostwertes steht in der Natur
an der Stelle des roten Fragezeichen.
Dieser Schatz hat vier Sterne für die Schwierigkeit.
Schwierig ist Folgendes: Die Stelle, wo beide Türme
hintereinander zu sehen sind, ist nur bei sehr klarem Wetter zu
finden. Dann sieht man beide Türme nur ganz knapp über
Baumgipfel herausragen. Man sollte mindesten 20 km weit sehen
können und man muss ein gutes Fernglas dabei haben (nein,
Border hat mich nicht angestiftet 
).
Zur Fortbewegung: Das Dreieck, das durch den
Referenzpunkt dieses Listings (N 48° 37.343´, E 8°
55.506´), den Peilungspunkt und den Final aufgespannt wird,
hat einen Umfang von ca. 9 km. Ein Fahrrad ist natürlich ideal
(Überraschung! ). Aber bei diesem Radler Schatz sollen
auch Autofahrer und Motorradfahrer gut zurande kommen, aber dann
natürlich mit zwei Haltepunkten, einem in der Nähe der
Peilung und einem in der Gegend des Finals.
Ansonsten wendet sich dieser Schatz an den absolut
selbstständigen Cacher. Eine "geführte Runde" wird hier
nicht geboten .
"Turmpeilung" ("Tower bearing") requires you to find
the spot from where two towers are seen in exactly the same
direction, one behind the other.
"Turmpeilung weltlich" ("Tower bearing secular") is
about getting to see the tower at the Betzenberg (N 48°
37´, E 9° 9´, far right in picture "Towers out of
line") directly on top of the water tower near
Altdorf/Holzgerlingen (N 48° 38´, E 9° 0´, left
in picture "Towers out of line") superimposed such that the former
appears to be an antenna of the latter (see picture
"Peilung").
You would not believe it, but there is exactly a single spot,
where this superposition works and where you are on a path. The
path is just an unpaved farm track but you can reach the spot
easily. You will need the coordinates of this point as input to
determine the coordinates of the Final. With the GPS receiver the
exact East coordinate value is hard to determine. Therefore look
for one of the yellow warning signs shown above and take the last
digit from the East coordinate at the position of the red question
mark.
I have rated the difficulty of this cache with four stars.
Difficult is the following: The spot of superposition can only be
found on days with extremely high visibility. On such a day you
will see both towers just visible behind distant treetops. A
visibility of 20 km minimum and a good pair of binoculars is a
must.
Transportation and estimated effort: The three points
of the triangle built by the reference point of this listing (N
48° 37.343´, E 8° 55.506´), by the spot of
superposition and by the final, can be projected onto a circle with
a circumference of ca. 9 km. A bycicle is perfect of course (what
else would you expect from "Radler"? ). But this cache is also not too hard
with a car or motorcycle plus walking, in which case you would park
your vehicle twice, once near the superposition spot and once to
reach the final.
This cache is designed for the independent cacher. We do not
attempt to provide anything close to a "guided tour" here.

werden diese Hilfe nicht haben. "Turmpeilung - kirchlich" wird erst
