1793 is the date that this lovely old house was built. The Fairfield family settled here as Loyalists and prospered. The friends of Fairfield House have worked hard to keep this house intact and to restore it to the original looks. It was habited until the middle of the 20th century, and is officially owned now by Loyalist Township. Inside. there is a small museum of artifacts that would have been used by the family during its early years. The little flower beds have the types of plants that would have been planted at that time. The stone in the front yard is the limestone base into which the house has been built. The road in front is part of the original road that went from Kingston to York. The house is open for tours (please give a donation) during the summer months from Tuesday to Sunday (?).
We hope that you enjoy this gem of history.

DO NOT STEP INTO THE FLOWERBEDS!

The cache can be found from outside the fence. The cache is hidden in an open area so you must be really stealthy when you find it. Please hide it again carefully. Do not disturb any stones.
