On the Solent Way as it passes through Southampton, not far from Town Quay. Set in conjunction with Nobby Nobbs. There is no pencil in the cache, please bring your own.
As you leave Town Quay and bear right you can see some of the old city walls, built in the 1300's. At this time the tide lapped up against the walls and fed a moat on the landward side of the walls.
A sluice gate was built to control the ebb & Flow of water in the moat and God House Tower was built to protect the sluice.
You walk past the Tower on your way to the cache, or if you are dashing, frankly you'll be parking your car next to it. Either way, please take the time to nip over to those two map boards, they show exactly how the Tower fitted in with the ancient city and if you just walk through that arch, you can see the inside of the city walls. It's much easier to imagine how things were back then if you take this moment out of your busy day.
The cache itself is right at this end of Queens Park and is a film cannister.
