“INDIANA SPIRIT
QUEST”
The Indiana Spirit Quest series of
geocaches will take you to a number of historic cemeteries
built by Hoosier Pioneers. In just a year and a half, the quest has
grown to over two hundred thirty caches hidden in twenty-three
Indiana counties, and two Ohio counties, and the hiders have grown
to nine cacher teams, six of which are comprised of A Man and
His Dog... One who is a man and his Cat, and one who is a Dog
and her Woman. Over 400 cacher teams have
logged over 4,700 finds. One cache machine found 102 ISQ caches in
a single day!

”MORLEY'S GHOST"
Who knows what Evil lurks in the hearts of
men?
The SHADOW, mysterious character who aids
the forces of law and order, is in reality Lamont Cranston, wealthy
young man-about-town. Several years ago in the Orient, Cranston
learned a strange and mysterious secret…the mysterious power
to cloud men’s minds so they cannot see him.
Cranstons’s friend and companion, the lovely Margo Lane, is
the only person who knows to whom the voice of the Invisible SHADOW
belongs…Listen to the laughing voice of
theSHADOW:
Welcome to Alvarado
in Richland Twp., Stueben County…
This cemetery is not
very noticeable from the road, nor is the parking pull-in. It has a
set of steps going up & through a gate. Both are unusable now.
The coordinates given are for the parking pull-in. When you get
there, look for the HUGE OCTOPUS TREE. There you will find what you
seek. Under its canopy your feeble electronic devices will not
work, so, May The Force Be With You!
This is a mid sized,
inactive cemetery. The earliest legible makers I saw were dated to
the mid 1850's. The latest one was dated 1951. I located a few
Civil War veterans graves but could identify none from later
wars.
The main part of the
site sits on a hilltop with trees all around. This gives a sense of
seclusion & privacy. The most noise I heard while here was from
nearby peafowl. Many of the markers are in a state of disrepair,
and possibly have been vandalized in the past. There is a variety
in the types & styles of markers, From field stones to a huge
non-corrosive metal monument, Possibly aluminum or zinc alloy.

The SHADOW knows. The weed of Crime bears
bitter fruit. Crime does not pay!

Whoa, Lead Dog! That's
