A round trip of about 2.5 Km (1.5 miles), in a popular recreational area. This quiz and walk are intended to provide family entertainment for all ages and the solutions are all visible from junior eye levels. Please Note: It is required by Southampton City Council that all activities adhere to the guidelines set out by Hampshire County Council regarding Geo-caching.
There's plenty of wildlife here, go early to see woodpeckers and goldfinches, and there might even be eagles and other birdies about. The whole walk is on surfaced paths and all points are accessible by pushchair / bicycle but the last 50metres includes steps and is not suitable for an unaccompanied wheelchair.
There is very poor GPS reception at the Cache, but you need not stray from the path and a good fix is possible either side of the final position.
There is a 24 hour free car park at N 50° 56.286' W 001° 25.138' which is a good place to start as there is refreshment here for when you return!
Nb. This cache is a 1litre tupperware type container alongside a well used footpath, please be on the lookout for Muggles! Make sure you're not observed accessing the cache and make sure it is well hidden before leaving the site.
