This cache has been archived.

Nomex: Hi
As there's been no cache to find for months, I'm temporarily archiving this to keep it from continually showing up in search lists. Just contact us when you have the cache repaired, [RED]and assuming it still meets the guidelines[/RED], we'll be happy to unarchive it.

Don't hesitate to email me via the link on my Profile if you have any questions. [red]Please be sure to include the cache name and GC Code, or better yet, the URL of the cache page.[/red]

Thanks for your cooperation!

Geocache Description:

This marks gate SA02 to Sierra Azul OSP. The cache is past the gate just across the pretty stream there.

I've often driven past here and have always fallen for the MROSD sign "trick"... Most of the signs around here (like at the SA04 gate) read "AREA CLOSED" in large letters with something like "ordinance 1234 enforced" in tiny letters underneath. This one actually reads "PRESERVE CLOSED" in large letters but the smaller ones underneath say "half hour after sunset"...

There's very little parking near the gate but you can fit a car or two near it and another one or two up the road a little if need be. Beyond the gate are the remnants of the old trail/roads that went up from here.

My reception here was pretty bad so the coords could be off a bit. My EPE was about 24'. Feel free to post better coords if you can manage them. The container is a camo tube about 8" long and maybe 1.5" in diameter. The camo is prone to chipping so if you see a white chip in it please just add a dab of mud from the nearby streambed to cover it up. The container isn't totally watertight and it opens from the "fuzzy" end only. It contains a log, pen, and various small trade items.
