Come walk along Mission Creek and see a part of San Francisco that
the tourists rarely visit. Originally a huge wetlands and once a
huge landfill, the lands around Mission Creek are a testament to
generations that wanted their real estate flat, dry and easy to
build on. The only thing that hasn't been filled in is the creek
itself.
But just because you can't build on it doesn't mean you can't
live on it. Mission Creek has something you don't see every day - a
houseboat enclave. We'll take you on a short walk through Huffaker
park opposite the dock. Note that some of the stages may not be
visible at night. You wouldn't be able to see the butterfly garden
either, so time your visit for daylight hours.
