Alien Encounter Multi-cache
MarvinM: A new path has been cut into the trees which make the final location exposed. The container is regularly disappearing but no one has logged the cache at all in 2022.

This short multicache will take you to two places of “alien” landings in Halifax. It’s a pleasant stroll in a scenic urban seaside park.
The listed coordinates are for Melville Island, not for the first waypoint. You should park at N 44° 38.045', W 063° 36.951'. Once there, find out the size of the land granted to an alien visitor in 1752 which included the island. Divide this number by 1000 and add it to the following: N 44° 38.099' W 063° 36.809' to find the location of the next waypoint. If you did the math right it should be only 400 m away as the crow flies. Unless you brought your spaceship, take the seawall walkway.
At the second waypoint you will find a remnant of an alien ship which landed here. Find out how much it weighs in pounds. Divide by a thousand and add to the minutes of each N 44° 36.914' and W 063° 35.950' to find the location of the cache. The checksums for both the northing and the westing of the container is 28. It is again suggested that you take the seawall path rather than the direct route to the cache.
The container has been placed close to the shoreline about 6 feet off the ground. It should be safely approachable year round. Take care not to be observed by locals (or aliens). The cache is a bungy-corded plastic container with log sheet, pencil and room for a few small trading items. Please re-hide well as it's a popular spot.
