Geocache Description:

You will be descending to the bottom of the beautiful Willow Creek ravine on this two-stage multi. The terrain rating is more for what you could get yourself into, than for what you actually have to do. Round trip is about 2 km.

Recommended parking is at the County of Simcoe administration building at N44° 26.696' W79° 44.694. Stay to the right, go around the building to the other side, and you will find a public parking lot.

This is a 4-season cache. Your journey will take you past a lookout high above Willow Creek that consistently features some of the most blazing fall colours in the area. In the winter, the adventerous can descend into the ravine for a snowshoe adventure.

There is also an easy way down, and it will be obvious.

Stage 1: A metal tag with N coordinates on top, and W coordinates on bottom.

***CORRECTION!** I think the coordinates are off, so get the numbers from the tag and subtract .010 from the N and .007 from the W.

Main Cache: You will find the main cache in the forest on a plateau *above* (hint!) the creek, but *well below* (another hint!) the main trail. Heed the hints to find the correct entry point, or just use the trail head coordinates provided.

After you find it, you may notice a forest "wall" to the south. You can climb it, or back-track a bit to get out. If you are on snowshoes, feel free to follow the creek back, but it may not always be passable. Sometimes there are ice shelves attached to the side of the ravine that can be walked on.

Note: It is approximately 25-30 metres from the top to the bottom, and some places are quite steep. But you can get in and out without any steep climbing.

Note: The main trail is very popular! In the winter, it is used by snowmobiles, so walk as you would on any road. (With snowshoes, you can get away from it all down below.)
