Geocache Description:

Despite the title, this one offers dry underfoot conditions at most times of year (as long as you stick to the path!). The cache is one of the "Blog Standard" series, a set of seventeen caches, each loggable finds in their own right, and each containing a clue to the location of an eighteenth. More details and photos (no spoilers) and information about the other caches in the series are here.

The co-ordinates shown are for the Deerleap car park on the edges of the New Forest (SU353095), where the cache begins. Parking here is free. As long as you don't get lost you'll walk about three miles in total doing this cache, the clues are all easy to find and the final location shouldn't give anyone any trouble.

Note that as it seems the post at point four has gone missing, I've re-written the maths so you don't need it!

Look around the car park until you spot a small sign with “Esso” and some numbers on it – it’s near the entrance. Ignore the 6”, there are two other digits on the sign, A.B
The Forestry Commission have built a new fence which obscures the "Esso" at the top of the sign - if you find a sign half-hidden behind a section of fence rail, close to a flourescent pipeline marker, you're in the right place! The numbers are still easily readable

Move on to N50 52.873 W1 30.152. Here the wire fence has a slightly different design to the rest of the fence: How many horizontal pieces of wood are there? C

Now go to N50 52.704 W1 30.373, where you’ll find a stile alongside a gate: How many horizontal pieces of wood are in the stile (ignore the three in the fence, just the stile!)? D

The next clue is at N50 52.468 W1 30.657: A vertical post has a two-digit number, EF (it has the same number on both sides).

The last clue is at N50 52.394 W1 30.727, here you’ll find a bridge with a weight limit of G.H Tons. Cross the bridge and as soon as you’re across, look around you until you spot a blue diamond with some white numbers on it – look carefully and you WILL see it! There are two large digits JK and three smaller ones all the same, LLL.

Well done! Now have a well-deserved sit-down and work out the final cache location, which is at:
N50 5R.TUV W1 3W.XYZ
R = B – H
T = D – L
U = J – K
V = C + D + D

W = A – J
X = H – C
Y = B – G
Z = H + C + D

This cache is located within the New Forest. The rules specified here must be applied by any cacher hunting this cache and by hunting this cache you have accepted these conditions.
