Co-worker "Cards" and I decided to put a geocache behind our
office. This is an area between a housing development and an
industrial area that will not be built upon and contains a stream
and a few ponds. I've many times seen deer, rabbits, squirrels,
chipmunks, geese, many types of ducks and birds, and even cats out
there. Now, there's an occasional geocacher.
Note, as of December 2010, I no longer work here, but my
ex-coworkers know about the cache and are comfortable with it
there... and enjoy catching seeing a random person hiking through
with a GPS in hand.
Park to the east of the cache on a small road off of Helmo Ave.
You'll figure out a place to get on a paved trail. The trail only
goes about half-way to the cache. When you get to the cache area,
the building directly to your west is where I work. If you see me
or my co-worker waving, please wave back.
Please mind the small trees when walking through this area. Some
have been very recently planted and are hard to see.
Original content was stuff we found around the office: A 2005
sticker-calendar, chopsticks, a new box of 3.5" disks, a jewel
case, a PS2 or Serial mouse, a cool computer power cord, a
keychain, 89.3FM coaster, and some other stuff.
This cache is an ammo can that was previously used as a toolbox
by
Jenny Moberg (1959-2005). I am friends with one of her nephews,
Ben. After she passed away, in trying to give away some of the
things she left behind, Ben offered this ammo can to me knowing I
could use it as a geocache. He thought it would be a good use for
it. Please keep the history of this cache in mind and take care of
it.
