Until the State of California purchased the Ahmanson Ranch property from
Washington Mutual in 2003, it looked as if this area was destined to become another
suburb of Los Angeles. Instead of dozens of suburban lightpost hides in the parking lots of
supermarkets and Chinese restaurants, we have a great open space for long hikes and few caches. Sorry VKs.
This cache tries to make up for that. I've hidden a small plastic pill bottle.
I was going to paint it green, but I was too lazy. In addition to the log sheet,
the cache contains several Chinese fortune cookie fortunes. In order to claim a
find, take a fortune and leave a fortune (if you don't have a fortune, write
your own fortune on a blank strip of paper). In your log, tell us the fortune
that you took.
Don't leave the cookie, food in a
cache is a no-no. The cache is hidden just a few feet from the trail. There is
no need to bushwhack.
