Easy cache at the Leithagebirge at a lookout, close to the Lower Austria / Burgenland borderline.
Suitable for toddlers, not for baby-buggies. Estimated minimum duration 45 minutes, total length 1.2 km.
Einfacher Cache am Leithagebirge bei der Kaiser-Franz-Josef-Warte, nahe der niederösterreichisch / burgenländischen Grenze.
Geeignet für Kleinkinder, nicht für Kinderwagen. Geschätzte Mindestdauer 45 min, Gesamtlänge 1,2 km.
The lookout Kaiser-Franz-Josef-Warte is named after the famous austrian Kaiser, Franz Josef the First,
offering a great view into the Wiener Becken and to the Neusiedlersee.
Its first version has been erected in 1888 by the Austrian Touristicclub, at a height of 443 metres above sealevel. In the eighties of the 20th century it has been fully renovated.
Due to the possibility to barbequeue here, the cache has been hidden quite far away, to avoid being spotted from the lookout or found by somebody looking for branches for a campfire.
The shortest path is from a parking lot at N 47° 55.446' E 016° 36.690'.
Or it can be combined with either
In the Desert or
Lea`s Mountain or both of them (60 min from "In the Desert", 90 min from "Lea's Mountain").
To get a feeling where to search, the cache is 125 metres away from the lookout, in direction 50° (NE).
When standing at the lower end of the stairs of the lookout, follow at first the small marked hiking trail leading North, and leave him after a while.
The satellite reception may be bad due to the foilage, so please feel free to use the hint and also the spoiler photo, if necessary.
Please cover the box with some leafs at first when rehiding.

Die Kaiser-Franz-Josef-Warte ist wie erwartet nach dem berühmten österreichischen Kaiser Franz Josef I. benannt, sie bietet tolle Fernsicht ins Wiener Becken und zum Neusiedlersee.
Das Original wurde 1888 vom Österr. Touristenklub errichtet, in einer Seehöhe von 443 Metern. In den 80ern des 20. Jhts wurde die Warte umfassend renoviert.
Weil hier Grillplätze vorhanden sind, wurde der Cache relativ weit weg versteckt, um einerseits nicht von der Warte aus gesehen zu werden
und auch um nicht von Leuten beim Brennholz sammeln gefunden zu werden.
Der kürzeste Weg hierher führt vom Parkplatz bei N 47° 55.446' E 016° 36.690'.

Lea`s Mountain oder beiden (60 min von "In the Desert", 90 min von "Lea's Mountain").
Als Gebietshinweis: der Cache ist 125 Meter von der Warte entfernt, in Richtung 50° (NO).
Wenn Du am Fussende der Stufen der Warte stehst, folge zuerst dem schmalen Wanderweg Richtung Norden, und verlasse ihn nach einiger Zeit.
Der Satellitenemfpang könnte wegen des Laubdaches schlecht sein, bitte den Hint und eventuell auch das Spoilerfoto verwenden.
