Cayuga Flats aka Spawn of Multiplicity #4 Traditional Geocache

This cache has been archived.

Woody's Roundup: Well after two and a half years, a couple of mugglings and most importantly 101 logged finds we decided with great regret to archive one of Woody's first hides. I think that this was one of the longer surviving Stickmonkey clone caches and we are still greatful forhis generousity. Come to think of it we miss Stickmonkey and wish we would see one of his logs again soon. Thanks to all that visited.

Geocache Description:

Cayuga Flats is located in Lancaster NY downstream of the Como Park Lake Dam.

The Cayuga Creek Flats are located in the Village of Lancaster just downstream from the Como Lake Dam. The flats are owned by Erie County and are accessable to the general public year youd. The Lancaster Midddle School does utilize the area for outdoor Phys Ed classes and after school athletic events (lacrosse, soccer). It is suggested that cachers aviod the area during spring and fall school hours ( 7:15AM - 2:00PM). Access to the cache without drawing undue atention is possible during after school sporting events. The flats are a flood plain established with a Corp of Engineers flood control project completed several years ago. The area has become increasingly popular with area fishermen as Steelhead Trout migrate from Lake Erie to the Como Park Lake Dam to spawn. The cache itself is the fourth adopted offspring of the Multiplicity Cache established by Stickmonkey in Clarence NY. We would like to acknowledge Stickmonkey's generousity. His goal to increase the number of geocaching oppurtunities in WNY is admirible. The Cayuga Flats Cache is a plastic container about 1 foot tall and 8 inches square wrapped in camoflague tape. It is well hidden to maintain stealthiness in a very muggle rich environment. Please return the cache to it's exact location upon completion of your search. The cache should be accessable year round. Parking is available with 550 feet of the cache site. The first 500 feet are a walk in the park. the last 50 may be a different story. Please consider visiting other cache locations in nearby Como and Oxford parks after completion of this one.
