Geocache Description:

Located within the Fannin Park Unit of the Caddo National Grasslands just southeast of Lake Fannin. There are no trails, but the bushwhacking is easy to Hard…it is an open forest but you must traverse some deep ravines.

You should see lots of wildlife on your hike and if you are lucky, you might see a Least Tern (Sterna antillarum) that is on the endangered species list compiled by the US Fish and Wildlife Service for this area. They also list the Louisiana Black Bear (Ursus americanus luteolus) and the Bald Eagle (Haliaeetus leucocephalus) seen in this area on the threatened species list.

You will be passing close to the most excellent cache “Bato” by Cloud Buster during your trek. For the real adventurous folks, check out the famous 5/5 cache “A Walk in the Park” by Team Fannin. Another head scratcher and excellent cache in the immediate area is “Buzzard’s Roost” by Cloud Buster.

The cache is a cammo'ed ammo can.

Suggested Parking Coordinates for stage two: N33 46.147 W096 09.139. Be sure to mark your parking location, as it is pretty easy to get turned around in these woods. No Water or restroom facilities are available
