Geocache Description:

Yes, you've read that correctly. There are pyramids near to Ompton. And yes again, your eyes do not deceive you. They are quite large.

This was the last pumping station constructed by the Nottingham City Water Works, opened in 1969 and designed by the City Architect David Jenkins. The buildings is commented on in Pevsner's volume for Nottinghamshire.

The cache is located next to the public bridleway which runs behind the pyramids. Please DO NOT try to get to it from the front as there are private residences here.

I adopted this cache in November 2020 from angellica who had adopted it some years previously from Fleetwinders. I hope as a Golden Oldie, it continues to be active for many years to come.
