Geocache Description:

A micro near to a VERY prominent Dartmoor landmark.

North Hessary Tor is home to that huge 750ft TV mast that you can see from almost anywhere on Dartmoor. It was erected in 1955 by the BBC to serve Plymouth and the local areas, and nowadays also aids mobile phone reception greatly!
The panoramic views from here are amazing (if you are lucky enough with the weather) as much of the time this area is in cloud.
Be warned...it is not advisable to do this cache in a thunder storm! You will notice that the cables that support the mast have an extremely 'charred' look to them, undoubtedly from very many lightning bolts.
