Geocache Description:

This is a three mile round trip along the river Leven. Location is near Roudsea Wood which is a Nature Reserve and worth a walk in its own right. Nature events take place at Roudsea. Natural England

Approach from east
Turn off the A590 and go through Haverthwaite village, then over Low Wood stone bridge and park on north east side of river. Park on the side of the Clock Tower road and then follow the public footpath opposite for approx 60 yards then go through the gate on your right into a field. Follow the river bank and path until you reach the woods and nature reserve on left. You need to keep walking along the road and eventually get the arrow to swing to the north side of the road. (Previous GZ exposed during tree harvesting 11/2010.) You are now close to the cache, and your GPSr will confirm this.

Approach from west
Park in Greenodd. Cross the Leven estuary and A590. Walk along Cumbria Coastal Way towards Lady Syke Cottages. Tarmac road starts here. Walk along tarmac surface till near enough to head north to location.

Cache location moved to north side of road, 1/1/2011 after original hide exposed by harvesting operations. Still under trees, but location not visible from back road. Although cars on A590 might see you, if they are looking. You can search in secret.

There is parking at Roudsea Woods for permit holders. Near SD 32963 82694
