Geocache Description:

A cache series highlighting the public art of Tacoma.

Placed in 1988 to honor Tacoma's heritage and celebrate its future, this sculpture by Douglas Charles Granum pays homage to Tacoma's railroad tradition. Although the name, "Locomotive Monument" is less than imaginative, the sculpture itself makes up for it in vivid colors seldom seen on any of the tens of thousands of trains that have passed through the city.

The sculpture was placed in a micro park wedged between two busy streets. Nearby parking will be a challenge during the day but much easier at night. The cache consists of two nearly identical containers placed only about a yard apart. When you find one, you'll have found the other. One contains the logbook, the other small trade items. Please make sure that the containers are completely closed and placed back exactly.

If you find a film cannister, you haven't found the cache.
