Geocache Description:

Bishop Wood is a Planted Ancient Woodland Site. It is the largest wooded area in the Humberhead Levels and is just a few metres above sea level.

THIS CACHE IS A TRADITIONAL CACHE BUT ALSO CONTAINS A CLUE TO OUR A walk in the woods MULTI CACHE. IF YOU INTEND TO ATTEMPT THE MULTI CACHE YOU SHOULD VISIT ITS PAGE FIRST SO THAT YOU WILL KNOW WHAT TO DO WITH THE CLUE WHEN YOU FIND IT.

The wood is home to a wide variety of Birds and Insects and Roe Deer live in the area. The cache is located approximately 0.6 miles from the car park at N53 47.540 W001 09.040 and can be reached by using some of the many paths which criss cross the area. Although it is a wooded area, the paths are generally wide enough to allow for a good GPS signal. The area may be muddy after rain and in winter. The Cache is a 1.5 litre lunchbox type container located within the woodland very close to one of the paths.

When placed it contained a variety of objects including Fossil sharks teeth, Fossil wood, A glow in the dark pebble, a Dinosaur model, 35 mm camera film etc.

Why not waymark your car and take a different route back to fully enjoy your walk in the woods.
