Near to the site of the battle of Edgehill. Dependent on where you park the approach is either flatish or hilly! Can be muddy after rain. Stunning views from the top.
The cache is a half litre ice cream tub, so only small travel bugs and exchanges will fit. Usual array of small exchange items are already in the cache.
This is one of our favourite spots, the views from the top of the hill are wonderful. They take in a panoramic view of the Oxfordshire, Warwickshire border country.
It also overlooks the site of the 1642 battle of Edgehill, the first battle of the English civil war. The Royalist cavalry had the best of the fighting, but there was no clear winner. Supposedly the King's standard was raised at where the Castle Inn now stands. Most of the battlefield site is now located within MOD property and there is no public access.
You can park either adjacent to the Castle Inn at the top of the hill, or if you feel less energetic in the picturesque village of Radway at the bottom of the hill.
