We discovered this new
trail through an article in the Seattle P-I and have been dying to
hike it ever since. The trail, history, and scenery was spectacular
every step of the way.
This cache is located about 3.4 miles from the trailhead. From
the Lime Kiln, until you reach this location, you will be hiking
along the old railroad grade for the Everett & Monte Christo
Railway. The river below you gets much wilder during this section
and the trail affords many good viewpoints. At the end of the trail
you look out over the river and can see where the railroad trestle
spanned the river on it’s way up to Monte Christo. Please
leave all bits of history for others to enjoy just the way you
found them. For driving directions to the trailhead please read the
article.
