The cache is located in the Trvyann-area, close by the "Tryvannsgrana".
Tryvannsgrana used to be the one remaining spruce tree after a terrible storm in 1930. Approximately 7000 cub.metres of trees, mostly spruce, were flattened in that storm. Some of the timber was used to build the old cabin Tryvannsstua. The storm also cleared the slope for what was to become the downhill skirun known as Tryvannskleiva. The Tryvannsgrana was some 200 years old, 40 metres high and the volume about 10 cub.metres, when it finally fell around 2016.
The county of Oslo owns this part of Nordmarka. It was purchased from the heirs of Thomas Heftye, a prominent Norwegian businessman, in 1889.
A hike to this cache could be combined with a trip to the nearby Tryvannsstua cafeteria.
The cache is a 1,2 litres plastic box, wrapped in a plastic bag. It is supposed to be available all year round. The cache should not be visible. Please be careful when putting the cache back so it doesn't fall to the ground.
