Tämä monipistekätkö on tarkoitettu suunnistusharjoitukseksi geokätköilijöille. Kätkön idea on seuraava: Annetut koordinaatit vievät sopivaan pysäköintipaikkaan, josta voit aloittaa rastien hakemisen.
Kartan suunnistamiseen saat tästä linkistä. Tulosta kartta ja rastimääritteet itsellesi ja etsi siihen merkityt kymmenen rastipistettä. Voit hakea ne haluamassasi järjestyksessä. Rastipisteissä ei ole mitään rastilippua tai vastaavaa esinettä, josta voisit tunnistaa kohteen, vaan sinun täytyy varmistua asiasta muulla tavoin. Ota rastipisteiden koordinaatit talteen. Lopullisen kätkön koordinaatit ovat N 61°30.xxx E 23°51.yyy. Muutamat rastipisteet ovat kiviä, joiden lähellä kasvaa puita. Laske kiviä koskettavien elävien isojen (halkaisija yli 5 cm) puiden lukumäärä. Se on luku z. Saat luvun xxx kun lasket kymmenen rastipisteen pohjoiskoordinaattien minuuttiosan desimaalien keskiarvon ja vähennät siitä luvun 1083/z. Luvun yyy saat vastaavalla tavalla itäkoordinaattien minuuttiosan desimaaleista kun lisäät keskiarvoon luvun 1278/z.
Rastit sijaitsevat Alasjärven ja Niihamajärven välisellä alueella. Se on helpohkoa suunnistusmaastoa, tosin paikoitellen märkää. Talviaikaan Kaupista Niihamaan johtava valaistu reitti on tarkoitettu pelkästään hiihtäjille. Älä siis käytä sitä, jos reitillä on latu. Lumi ei peitä kätköä, tosin talviaikaan sen löytäminen on vaikeampaa.
Niihaman ulkoilumaja palvelee arkisin klo 10 - 20 ja la - su 9 - 20.
Laitoin rasiaan: lokikirjan, lyijykynän, teroittimen, muovisen pyyhekumin ja muutamia pikku esineitä.
The purpose of this multi cache is to be an orienteering exercise for geocachers. The idea is following: The given coordinates are pointing to a proper parking place, where you can start to search the control points.
A map for orienteering you can get from this link. Print the map and descriptions of the control points. You have to find those ten control points drawn on the map. There are no control markers or similar objects at the control points to recognize that you are on the correct spot, but you have to do it some other way. Save the coordinates of the control points. The final coordinates of the cache are N 61°30.xxx E 23°51.yyy. Some of the control points are boulders having trees growing near them. Count the number of big (diameter more than 5 cm) tree trunks touching those boulders. Let this number be z. You will get the number xxx following way: Calculate the average of the ten control points N coordinates minute parts decimals and subtract 1083/z from the average. You will get the number yyy similar way. Calculate the average of the ten control points E coordinates minute parts decimals and add 1278/z to the average.
The control points are located on the area between lakes Alasjärvi and Niihamajärvi. The area is quite easy orienteering terrain, but partly wet. In winter the illuminated route from Kauppi to Niihama is reserved for cross-country skiers. So, don't walk on it if there are tracks on that route. Snow will not cover this cache, but it's quite hard to find it in wintertime.
