Geocache Description:

This multi-cache is located on Caerau Hill, an Iron Age Hillfort. Not much is known about this fort which covers about five hectares of land and has springs at the top providing freshwater. It is surrounded by three huge defensive ditches, that would have had wooden walls. Roman pottery fragments have also been discovered within the boundaries of the defensive ditches.

Today the land is used for grazing animals, so you must keep all dogs on their leads and remember to close any gates you pass through. The ground in some areas can become muddy after rainfall, so suitable footwear is advisable.

This is a multi-cache consisting of a small number of micro-caches, which contain the coordinates of the next location. The walk is less than a mile in distance. The final cache is a 1 litre tupperware container, containing a log book, pencil and a number of items to swap.

Park your car at the coordinates listed above. There is a small layby, just big enough for two cars. Please take care not to block the gate.

The first micro-cache is located at:
N 51 32.312 W 003 20.854 (ST 06639 83048)
