In the Sandia Mountains. Canyon Estate Hiking Area.
This cache was placed for my son's 15th birthday. He wanted to take his friends geocaching, so I placed 3 caches in the Sandia Mountains. This is number 1. All the Birthday cache hikes are less than one mile. I did visit the Sandia Ranger Station to see if it was okay to place caches and their response was as long as I didn't bury it. Also if deep trails start to form, I may have to pull them.Park your car at N 35 05.377, W 106 23.493. Bring along $3 to pay the parking fee(The parking fee is no longer required at this cache). Continue up the trail to view a nice area my kids like to play and have picnics at. During the run-off time it can be a waterfall.A picture of the original contents is attached.
