Latschenkopf/Brauneck 1727m
Damit die Flachlandtiroler einen Bergcache etwas bequemer erreichen können, habe ich diesen Cache eingerichtet. Außerdem animiert er wenigstens etwas zu wandern und nicht nur die Promenade Bergstation - Quengeralm zu spazieren. Vielleicht macht er ja Lust auf mehr, so daß die anderen Bergcaches in der Nähe dann doch reizen. Man kann mit der Brauneckbahn aufs Brauneck fahren. Von dort ist es ein relativ bequemer Weg zum Latschenkopf mit ca. 200 Höhenmetern und dauert ca. 3 Stunden (bequem). Am besten macht man folgenden Rundkurs: Bergstation - Brauneck - Stangeneck - Kirchstein - Latschenkopf (1712 m); Abstieg zum Probstalmsattel - Idealhang - Quengeralm - Tölzer Hütte - Bergstation. Zum Latschenkopf hin hält sich der Weg am Kamm, so daß man einen herrlichen Blick in die Bergwelt genießen kann. Auf dem Rückweg laden dann mehrere Almen zur Einkehr ein. Natürlich kann man vom Latschenkopf auch noch bis zur Benediktenwand wandern und die Aussicht länger genießen. Sportlichere Leute können den Latschenkopf natürlich vom Tal aus in Angriff nehmen. Von Wegscheid kann man mit dem Mountainbike auch zur Idealhanghütte radeln und von dort den Latschenkopf erklimmen. Aber da sollte man schon sehr fit sein, denn die Steigungen sind extrem (der Weg ist ein guter Fahrweg). Falls man es schafft, ohne abzusteigen bis zur Idealhanghütte zu kommen, kann man wirklich stolz sein.
Der Rundweg ist auch sehr gut für Kinder geeignet. Er ist sogar noch möglich, wenn etwas Schnee liegt.
Der Cache ist ein blauer wasserdichter Behälter (beach box(10cm*3cm) ) und ist in der Nähe vom Latschenkopf (nicht weit vom Gipfel auf 1700m) versteckt. Etwas Sichtschutz bietet eine zerzauste, verkrüppelte Kiefer. Da der Latschenkopf doch stark frequentiert ist, sollte man beim Heben gewisse Vorsicht walten lassen. Da das Versteck (siehe Hinweis) doch relativ einfach ist, setzt Euch einfach an die vermeintliche Stelle, als wenn Ihr Rast macht, und dann wird auch keiner etwas bemerken.

I have created this mountain cache for not so experienced people. It will animate you to walk a little bit more in this region and not only the usual highway cablecar station - Quengeralm. Perhaps you enjoy this walk and it will inspire you to find the other mountain caches in the near where you have to walk more (but less crowded). You can use the cable car to the Brauneck. From there it is a comfortable way with only 200 m difference in altitude. The best would be the following loop cablecar station - Brauneck - Stangeneck - Kirchstein - Latschenkopf (1712 m); descent Probstalmsattel - Idealhang - Quengeralm - Tölzer Hütte - cablecar station. For this loop you need 3 hours. The way to the Latschenkopf follow the ridge of the Latschenkopf and you will have a beautiful view into the Alps. On the way back you can rest in several huts and drink Bavarian beer. It's possible to follow the trail to the Benediktenwand if you want do a longer walk. If you are a sportsman you can start from the valley. From Wegscheid you can use a mountainbike to the Idealhanghütte and from there the Latschenkopf on foot. But you should be in a good shape, it's a very steep slope (the way itself is smooth). I f you reach the Idealhanghütte without any rest, you can be very proud.
The loop is suitable for children too. Even with a little bit snow the loop is practicable.
The cache is a blue waterproof beach box (10cm*3cm) and is hidden in the near of the Latschenkopf (on 1700m altitude). A stunted, tousled spruce will give you a little bit screen from view (in direction to the top). Because a lot of people visit the Latschenkopf be careful. The hiding place (see hint) is not difficult. Sit down near the on the supposed place (it looks if you rest there) and then you can search without disturbance.
