In januari 2004 gingen wij (Roy, Jolanda en
Hansje) als een soort uit de hand gelopen grapje voor een lang
weekend naar Gambia, West-Afrika. Via een site boekten wij vanuit
Nederland een gids die ons zou vergezellen in Gambia. Na onze reis
hebben we zelf een site gemaakt boyleigh.com
Nooit hadden wij op dat moment gedacht dat wij hiermee een ware
vriend zouden ontmoeten. Vanaf de kennismaking met Boy Leigh tot
aan ons vertrek hebben we er met z’n vieren een feest van gemaakt.
Met het prachtige landschap van Gambia als achtergronddecor
ontwikkelde zich een vriendschap die zich niet alleen tot dat ene
weekend zouden beperken. Gemeenschappelijke waarden als respect
voor jezelf en anderen, liefde voor de natuur, reizen, geocaching
en nieuwe indrukken en vooral de slappe lach vormden de basis van
een langdurige en oprechte vriendschap. Daarom was het besluit om
in juni 2004 weer terug te keren naar Gambia, en natuurlijk dus
naar Boy Leigh, niet moeilijk om te nemen. Boy Leigh, die inmiddels
bovengemiddeld enthousiast was geworden over geocaching, wilde
dolgraag nog tweede cache (eerste cache Tubaab-Moofijo) beheren en
dan ook het liefst bij hem en zijn familie op hun compound. Het
thema voor deze cache was dan ook niet moeilijk te verzinnen en
resulteerde dus in de Tarima Kendolu (Good friends together) cache.
Loop deze cache dan ook in de sfeer waarin hij gecreëerd is en denk
aan en eer je ware vrienden tijdens de speurtocht naar deze
cache.

went to The Gambia – West Afrika- for a weekend. due to a joke that
got out of hand. Via a website we booked from The Netherlands a
guide who would accompany us in The Gambia. After our holiday we

Never in our wildest imagination would we have suspected at that
time we would meet a true friend because of this. Right form the
start when we met up with Boy Leigh until our departure the four of
us made a big party of our time there. With the beautiful scenery
of The Gambia acting as a background decorum a friendship developed
that would not only be limited to that particular weekend. Shared
values like respect for oneself and others, the love for nature,
travel, geocaching and new impressions en certainly also the
roaring with laughter formed the base of a true and long
friendship. Because of this the decision to return to The Gambia,
and of course to Boy leigh, in June 2004 was not a hard one to
make. Boy leigh, who in the meantime has become an overenthusiastic
geocacher himself, was keen on managing his own second cache,
preferably at his and his family’s compound. (first cache named
Tubaab-Moofijo) The theme for this cache was not very hard to find
and therefore resulted in this Tarima Kendolu (Good friend
together) cache. Do this cache in the spirit in which it was
created and think of and honour your true friends while you search
for the cache.
