Geocache Description:

A large micro located along the Mississippi River in South St Paul, MN

Bring your own pen or pencil!

This one was vandalized twice and the container removed or destroyed. Please retrieve and rehide with care as it would be pretty easy to lose the container. I reactivated with a smaller container that will be harder to see. Cache container is small very little room for trade items. Located on a really nice bike or walking path atop the Mississippi River Levee in South St Paul. The path may be accessed from a pedestrian and bike bridge at Grand Avenue, from a Public Water access under the 494 bridge at the South, at the North end another pedestrian bridge is located just South Of Butler Avenue on Concord Blvd, and a new bridge is located at Bryant and Concord. Please use one of these access points so that you can safely cross the adjacent railroad tracks. I bike and run on this path frequently with my two young kids. They love watching the trains and heavy barge traffic on the river. It is also a pretty good wildlife viewing area. I often see turkey vultures, lots of different waterfowl, and bald eagles. At the Grand Avenue Pumping Station there is even (used to be, now vandalized and removed) a pair of mounted binoculars that allow you to look across the river and view nesting bald eagles in the spring. One not so nice thing you may notice on some days is the odor from the Van Hoven rendering plant to the South, but most of the time this isn't a problem.
