Geocache Description:

This is pprass’s first cache that has been placed while we continue to work on what was supposed to be our first cache.

Please note that this track is public land (although you may not believe it at times), but please don’t wander off the track.

“Midnight, one more night without sleepin’
Watchin’ till the mornin’ comes creepin’
Green door, what’s that secret you’re keepin?”

“The Green Door “ performed by Jim Lowe 1956.

At the starting co-ordinates, you will have to muster your courage and find out what’s behind the green door. The song goes onto say “knocked once, tried to tell them I’d been there”, but no one will answer you here, so just make yourself at home and find your way in.
Once you are in, you will be amazed at the magnificent views - on both sides of the track!

1st Stop
Just a few houses along the way you will see an historic Bungalow style house that was used as the exterior of the Moynihan home in the 1995 film “Hotel Sorrento”. Find the name of the house and note the number of letters in the name.
Note: The house name is "Netley". The name has been taken down for an unknown reason.

4 letters A = 6

9 letters A = 9

Then go to:
S 38°19.4A6

2nd Stop
At this location you will find the name that Port Phillip was originally given. You will also learn that it was the first time that the Union Jack (ie the then new flag incorporating the cross of St. Patrick after the union with Ireland in 1801) was used for the purpose of claiming land for Britain.
Find the original name of Port Phillip.

6 letters B = 6
8 letters B = 7
10 letters B = 8

Then go to:
S 38°19.4BB
E 144°44.292

3rd Stop
At this location, what is the colour of the roof?

If Green then C = 5
If Blue then C = 6
If Grey then C = 9

Before moving onto the final co-ordinates and where the cache is located, why not go right to the end of the beach (not far), but watch out for the “flying Fox”.

Now back to the final co-ordinates. The cache, which is a 200ml sistema Klip IT container, is located at:
S 38°19.4AB
E 144°44.2C0

One further clue to help find the cache if you need it:
Is Sauvignon Blanc a red or white grape variety?
If you think it is a red variety, then look low.
If on the other hand you think it is a white variety, then look high.

One last bit of trivia – The first house west of where the cache is hidden is a famous house called Ilyuka. It was featured in the 1999 telemovie “On the Beach” (shown on Channel 7 in 2001).

Check sum: S decimals = 19, E decimals = 11
