This cache takes you to two power plants, which are very different. The first one went on line 1976 and works since then without attracting attention. The second one was build in the years 1972 to 1978, but was not finished. The conflicts about this power plant ended in an plebiscite, in which the people voted against this form of production of energy and led to the dismisal of federal chancellor Dr. Bruno Kreisky.
Most of the time the path leads you along the bicycle trail at the river Danube. Therefore it is suitable for bicycles, strollers and similar vehicles. If you go by foot, please don't underestimate the distance. This is no round-trip, you have to go back to the starting point on your own. Therefore the whole distance, back and forth, is up to 8 KM.
Dieser Cache bringt Dich zu 2 Kraftwerken, die wohl unterschiedlicher nicht sein könnten. Das erste wurde 1976 in Betrieb genommen und versieht seit dem ziemlich unauffällig seinen Dienst. Das zweite wurde in den Jahren 1972-1978 gebaut, aber nicht fertig gestellt. Der Streit rund im dieses Kraftwerk führte zu einer Volksabstimmung, in der sich gegen diese Form der Energiegewinnung entschieden wurde und den Rücktritt des damaligen Bundeskanzlers Dr. Bruno Kreisky zur Folge hatte.
Der Weg führt Dich zum grössten Teil entlang des Donauradwanderweges und ist daher natürlich bestens für Fahrräder u.ä. geeignet, also auch sehr Kinderwagentauglich. Solltest Du zu Fuss unterwegs sein, so unterschätze nicht die Entfernung. Es ist kein Rundweg, d.h. Du mußt ev. zum Ausgangspunkt zurückkehren. Dadurch kann die gesamte Weglänge, hin und zurück, bis zu 8 KM betragen.

A = numerical identification of this turbine
B = nominal flow rate of this turbine
C = weight of the shell of the rotor disk (rounded)
D = nominal revolution (rounded)
E = height of fall
An dieser Stelle findest Du eine Informationstafel über die Kennzahlen eines wesentlichen Bestandteiles, einer Turbine, des Kraftwerkes in dessen Nähe Du dich befindest.
Notiere Dir folgende Werte:
A = Nummerische Bezeichnung der Turbine
B = Nenndurchflussmenge der Turbine
C = Gewicht des Laufradmantels (gerundet)
D = Nenndrehzahl (gerundet)
E = Nennfallhöhe
Stage 2
N2 = N1 - (A * 12)
E2 = E1 + B + C + 2
With the help of such construction the energy produced at Stage 1 is brought to us. Most of time these masts are not very beautiful, but we need them.
Note these informations you will find here:
F = number of this mast
G = numberical denotation of these wires
H = voltage in kV
Mit Hilfe solcher Konstruktionen wird die Energie die bei Stage 1 erzeugt wird zu uns gebracht. Meistens sind diese Masten nicht sehr schön, aber leider notwendig.
Notiere Dir folgende Informationen, die Du hier findest:
F = Mastnummer
G = Leitungsnummer
H = Spannung in kV
Stage 3
N3 = N2 - 2
E3 = E2 + (F * G) - 20
This station has changed. I wasn't able to check this until now. Therefore I submit the value for I. I=3.
This time it is not related to energy. At this point you will find a staircase leading you down to the river. How many steps has the first section of this staircase? Note this number as I.
Only count the steps of the first section, the other steps are not always visible, depending on the water level of the river.
Diese Station hat sich geändert. Ich bin noch nicht dazu gekommen das zu kontrollieren und anzupassen, daher hier der Wert für I. I=3.
Diesmal nichts, was mit Energie zu tun hat. An dieser Stelle findest Du eine Treppe, die Dich hinunter zum Fluss bring. Wieviele Stufen hat der erste Abschnitt dieser Treppe? Notiere Dir diese Zahl als I.
Zähle nur die Stufen des ersten Abschnittes, die anderen Stufen sind nicht immer sichtbar, abhängig vom Wasserstand des Flusses.
Stage 4
N4 = N3 - D + E
E4 = E3 + (H / 2) + 25
Search for a read number and note this as J.
Suche eine rote Zahl und notiere Dir diese als J.
Stage 5
N5 = N4 - (I * 38)
E5 = E4 + (I * 47) + 2
At this point you will find two panels with numbers. Together they show you the distance to the delta of the river Danube. The crossfoot of the whole number is K, the number on the upper panel is L.
An dieser Stelle findest Du zwei Tafeln mit Zahlen, die zusammen die Entfernung von hier bis zum Donaudelta angeben. Die Quersumme der gesamten Zahl sei K, die Zahl auf der oberen Tafel sei L.
Stage 6 M= 58
N6 = N5 - B - (L * 11) + 4
E6 = E5 + (J * K * 4) + 18
Stage 7
N7 = N6 - E - (6 * L)
E7 = E6 + H + M - F
It may be a little hard to orientate oneself with this panel, because the world is upside down. But for our purpose it doesn't greatly matter.
Look at the panel and note this:
Q = number of boarding houses
R = number of inns
Please count only the symbols at the main map, not these at the caption or any additional plates.
Es ist etwas schwer sich anhand dieser Tafel zu orientieren, denn die Welt steht hier auf dem Kopf. Für unseren Zweck ist das aber nicht so schlimm.
Schau Dir die Tafel genauer an und notiere Dir folgendes:
Q = Anzahl der Pensionen
R = Anzahl der Gasthäuser
Zähle nur die Symbole auf der großen Karte, nicht die in der Kartenlegende oder etwaigen Zusatztafeln.
Stage 8
N8 = N7 - (Q * R * A) - 13
E8 = E7 + (Q * R * 10) - 9
At this place you will find a construction building a barrier for one of the 4 basic elements. In the upper part of this construction you will find the name of the manufacturer and the year of construction. Note the crossfoot of the year of construction as S.
An dieser Stelle findest Du ein Bauwerk, das ein Hindernis für eines der 4 Grundelemente darstellt. Im oberen Teil dieses Bauwerkes findest Du eine Tafel mit dem Namen der Herstellerfirma und das Baujahr.
Notiere Dir die Quersumme des Baujahres als S.
