Located up near the University of Maine in Orono. Parking is in a cemetery and the hike is a short one (200 yards or so from parking).
2004 The theme of this cache is your favorite state. Please leave items which represent in some way your favorite state. I started it with all Texas stuff. The idea is to convince my dad to get out of Maine and move south.
2018 Wow, that was then, this is now. In 2017 a big wind storm came through Maine, and I think that might have been when all the damage in these woods happened. The cache formerly was located at N 44° 54.282' W 68° 38.519'. As you can see, not to far from orininal spot about 120 feet. So close, and yet so far.
I spent quite a bit of time wondering which tree came from which trunk still in the ground. One I could not ever find the trunk.
Please be cautious, I updated the rating because I got there by walking on trees.
