Kalmanniemellä on ollut 1500 - 1600 luvuilla Valamon luostarin skiitta eli sivuluostari, joka tuhoutui 1600-luvun alussa ruotsalaisten ja karjalaisten välisissä taisteluissa. Paikalla on muistomerkki sekä luostarin ajoilta peräisin oleva suuri lehmus. Kätkö on ruskeahko peltipurkki ja sijaitsee muistomerkin lähistöllä.There has been a small branch of Valamo monastery in Kalmanniemi in the 16th century. The monastery was destroyed in combats between swedish and carelian troops in the beginning of the 17th century, only an old linden and monument of monastery still exist.The cache is a brown can. It's placed near to the monument.
