This cache is located near the Lampivaara amethyst mine in Luosto.
Lampivaaran ametistiesiintymä löydettiin kesällä 1985 ja se on 200 vuoteen tehty mittavin löydö koko Euroopassa. Lampivaaran kaivos on toistaiseksi ainoa ametistilöydös, joka sijaitsee napapiirin pohjoispuolella ja sen geologinen ikä on noin 2000 miljoonaa vuotta.Kaivokselle johtaa kaksi polkua, toinen n. 2,6 km ja toinen n. 3km. Myös itse kaivoksella on mahdollisuus vierailla. Lisätietoa löydät (visit link) The Lampivaara Amethyst mine was discovered in the summer of 1985 and is the most important find made during the last 200 years in Europe. It represents the only discovery ever of its kind made above the arctic circle and its geological age has been estimated to be approximately 2000 million years old.
