The Ring (Bucks) Mystery Cache

This cache has been archived.

Rocky Balboa: I'm archiving this due to time constraints and rather than fobbing it off to someone else to adopt again this time I hope someone else will come up with a new Aylesbury super cache that I can enjoy doing!! It may reappear in the future when I have more money to pay stoopid petrol prices but for now it's going to say bye, bye bye!!!!

Geocache Description:

The Aylesbury Ring is a footpath which stretches 31 miles or 50km around the town of Aylesbury. This cache has been a long time in the making & will hopefully supply anyone doing it with a challenge, entertainment, & something a little different. It can be completed by car or foot in which case the terrain rating would be 5. Please make sure to take note of what you will need for this challenge before setting out, or you may be unable to finish your journey.&

Taken from 'Walking on the Web' - "Following a radius of approx 8.5km / 5miles around Aylesbury the route offically starts and finishes at Wendover in Buckinghamshire but could easily start and finish in Dinton, Waddesdon, Hardwick, Rowsham, Hulcott, Aston Clinton, Great Kimble or Eythorpe."

This is a mystery cache! All that you will be told is the starting location and some additional 'need to knows' and helpfull information.

To complete this cache you will need:-

5-6 hours (if you intent to complete the cache at one attempt by car)
A pen/pencil & paper (essential)
A friend or family member (non cachers only please as otherwise other peoples fun will be spoilt!) with internet access available to help via phone & a mobile to call them
Good walking boots/shoes
& a torch if nightcaching or this could be VERY hard!

The coords at the top of this page will take you to a starting point which may be accessed from Potash Lane. The Ring is marked here but footpaths have been poorly maintained so make your way as best you can and please respect crops etc by walking at the edge of fields. Once there you will find a post, which show 3 circular signs. In total how many nails hold these three signs in place (That is the nails from them all, added together). This equals A.... next go to:

N51 50.(A-5)2(A-2) W000 44.(A-2)4(A-3) & locate a micro cache close to the gate.

Finally walk on a further 500ft to your 'first' box at:

N51 50.(A-5)4(A-4) W000 44.(A-1)8(A). Search under bricks for your prize.

That is all my friend, may your quest go well, Good Luck! Dan.

* PLEASE DO NOT MENTION LOCATIONS OR DISTANCES ETC IN LOGS :)
