Interstate 95 heading North only.
Interstate 95 between Bangor and Houlton can be a long, boring
drive…with the exception of Mile 252 heading north. A rest
area is located here that provides a fantastic view of Mt. Katahdin
and Salmon Lake Stream just below the parking area. I decided to
place this cache here to provide drivers with a great view and a
moment to stretch their legs. The State of Maine in their infinite
wisdom has not provided any facilities at this reststop. After all,
it's the most beautiful reststop on I-95 in the State of Maine so
why would you want to keep it clean of human waste and garbage??
If you park by the big boulder on the left as
you enter the parking area, you will be within 100 ft. of the
cache. The rest area is only open to traffic from May to October.
The cache is a small camo'd lock'nlock that blends in well so
exchanges must be of a small nature.
