Plenty of parking is available at the first cache location. The cache is hidden adjacent to an old abandoned cemetery, in which are buried the remains of 48 members of the Thompson-Kidwell Family. The cemetery has been severely vandalized and almost all the granite, slate, and marble headstones are broken, and now lay below the ground cover - THERE IS NO REASON TO ENTER THE CEMETERY!
The first container is a micro with a laminated sheet listing the coordinates for the second container, AND half the coordinates for the FINAL cache. Container is a small round Loc-N-Loc with a black test strip can inside, a yellow GC.com sticker is affixed. It is between the back fence of the cemetery and the gulch, and it's at ground level.
After finding that container if you choose to walk to the second park, head back to the parking area, cross the soccer fields and enter the woods in a general SSW direction. Use caution crossing the main road you drove in on - when you reach Westwood Hills Drive turn right and walk approximately 500 feet to the second park on your right (BIG sign should now make some sense of this Multi-Cache name). If you choose to drive, exit the parking lot and turn left on the main road you drove in on, Westwood Hills Drive will be the second paved road to the right, turn right for approximately 500 feet, limited roadside parking (see Additional Waypoint) is available at the park entrance. The second container location itself should certainly surprise you, it did me...how in the world did this thing get here??? The cache is magnetic, there is no room for trade items. There is nothing in it except for the coordinates for the third container location. Please replace the container EXACTLY as found.
The third container is a rather unique container that I haven’t seen used as a cache before...it hides well, and it is well placed, but not too far off the path. The container itself has only a small waterproof container inside with the last half of the coordinates for the final stage. The outside container is not waterproof so please do not leave any trade items in it. The container is a camoflauged paintball pod, traditional hiding spot about 25 feet off the trail. There is a huge, hairy PI vine close by, but you don't have to get close to it to retrieve the container.
The final cache is a 30 cal. ammo can, camouflauged, and hidden in a traditional manner. The terrain/paths in both parks are “kid friendly”, but the hike between them may not be...I would think the average 6 to 8 year old and above would do just fine.
NOTE: Please ensure you return all coordinate sheets to their respective caches, and hide the caches in their original/found locations. I hope you have as much fun hunting them as I did placing them...good luck.
