A BIT OF BACKGROUND INFO
In 1996 the wetland area forming the source of the River Anton (a tributary of the famous River Test) was the first location in Hampshire to be designated a 'Local Nature Reserve'. The site is in a wonderful, lush setting and is the home of many varieties of small mammals, fish, birds, insects, reptiles and amphibians. If you are lucky, you may see Kingfishers flying up and down the shallow chalk streams which feed the lakes and at dusk bats of several species flutter about the tree lined margins in abundance. The pastures around the lakes are grazed by cattle in order to preserve the diversity of the habitat. A children's adventure playground with a wild-life theme is also present on the southern edge. If you care to walk around the lakes, the trip takes 20 minutes or so and is largely on level gravel paths.

Because the area is very popular with the general public, a certain amount of stealth had to be employed when placing the cache...! If you find the cache, please move further along the path or to one of the many benches provided in order to investigate it's contents. Try not to be spotted removing or replacing it.
Please do not place any objects inside the cache.
There are specific instructions for replacing the cache - please adhere to them.

PLEASE NOTE
This Nature Reserve contains many delicate habitats which could be damaged by accessing areas off the pathways provided.

As always, please demonstrate a sensitive and responsible attitude to the countryside at all times. Cache In Trash Out would be great if you happen to have a bag handy, but please stick to the paths.

Enjoy your visit and good luck!
