Taivalkoski cache is one of hydroelectric power series by rometku.
All caches in this series are located near some hydroelectric power plant. Don’t worry these are NOT too close a plant nor any dangerous instruments and you are quite safe when looking for these caches.
This cache is located near Taivalkoski hydroelectric power plant. You can park your car near the cache site and power plant.
Turn from Rovaniementie road to Taivalkoskentie road and head for the plant. Small road goes alongside the dam down to riverbank, just follow that and park your car to safe place. Note that Rovaniementie road is not E75, Rovaniementie road goes between E75 and Kemijoki river.
You can walk to the cache site on riverbank just ~200 meters to down stream. Walk to cache is in rocky terrain, which will be extremely slippery is and when wet so be careful - especially if you have children with you.
