Geocache Description:

This cache is part of a series of caches in Seattle’s Sister City Parks. It is a micro cache that is log only and does not contain a writing implement so bring your own. For information on Seattle’s sister cities see (visit link)

Daejeon became the one of Seattle’s sister cities in 1989. The pavilion was built by the Seattle Korean community. Daejeon means “great field” in Korean and this park does have a fairly large, but definitely not rectangular field.

Check out the artwork at N47° 35.638, W122° 18.857. This sculpture is entitled “Equality.” This would make an excellent place for a cache, but I could not figure out how to get one there. I chose not to make it part of a multi ending with this cache because I think it deserves a cache of it’s own.

Daejeon Park is located on the I-90 pedestrian/bicycle trail and can be reached from the eastside on that trail.

For more information on Daejeon see the Seattle Sister City website at (visit link)

The cache is a decon container. FTF prize is a pair of guest passes for The Museum of Flight.

Note added 12/23/05 I have replaced the container. There is an attachment device. Please return the container to the attachment to prevent further muggling.

Note added 8/23/06 I moved the hide a bit since it had gone missing twice in the old hiding spot. The new hide is very similar to the old one. As before, please replace the container exactly as it was found to prevent further muggling.

Note added May 28, 2007 I replaced the decon with another one. Please note the orientation of the box. It is basically level with the top to the south. Please replace it that way so it can't be seen except from the proper angle. That should help prevent the theft of yet another cache.

Note added December 31, 2007 The last note asks that the cache be placed as it was when it was found. I need to clarify that the top of the cache should be closest to the beam.

July 29, 2018: The cache has been replaced by a small black hide-a-key container. This makes it a little bit harder to find. Do not hide the cache back behind the beam. It should be fine on the top. Message me if you can't find it so I can make sure you were looking in the right spot.
