A FISH TAIL
TALE
The trillium and
hepatica of springtime greeted the Triforce Team as they stopped to bag
a cache in Eau Clair. The threesome was on a long journey by van,
to the north shore of Great Lake Erie, in southeastern Ontario. The
occasional break for a geocache hike was a welcome relief to the stiff
muscles of the weary travelers. Upon finding the Eau Clair cache, the Triforce
Team was surprised to find a little rainbow trout, resting comfortably
in the camouflaged plastic jar.
The trout introduced
himself as Something's Fishy, a self-described young travel bug who was
hitchhiking the continent in search of great fishing spots. A cute
and friendly little trout, though somewhat quiet and introspective, Something's
Fishy was quickly adopted by the the Triforce Team. The Team invited Fishy
to accompany them in their travels, and promised to drop him off at the
next hot fishing spot. They wondered why a fish would be called to
places of great danger for his kind, but, being from Minnesota, they were
polite and did not question his inner journey or convictions.
The new fellowship
of the spring climbed rocks, scaled mountains, crossed vast sand dunes,
hiked ski trails ... but, alas ... the perfect spot did not present itself.
They returned, together, to the home of the Triforce Team, on the shores
of Leech Lake in northern Minnesota. Leech Lake, after all, was a legendary
fishing hot spot, where tall tales of giant muskie and plentiful walleye
catches were spun daily.
In honor of our
their new friend, the Triforce Team sought out the sweetest spot on the
lake, a place with a captivating view and unquestionably great fishing.
A place where Something's Fishy Travel Bug might rest comfortably, in a
camouflaged ammo box, until a new travel opportunity presented itself to
the young trout.
This
is a themed cache containing items used on a fishing trip. The few
original items that contain hooks have been packaged carefully to protect
probing fingers. Please be careful when examining contents of this
cache. If you place an item in the cache containing a hook, thanks
for considering future visitors (especially children) in your packaging
of that item. Items placed in this cache should be something used
on a fishing trip. Happy caching! -
The Triforce Team
PS There's
a disposable camera in the cache. Feel free to take a picture with
it and return it to the cache. We'll develop your pictures when the
camera's full and post them on this site.
