This ancient burial site is expected to be from around year 1000, and is placed with a great view of eastern part of Oslo. It is inside one of the old farms of Oslo, close to Østensjø - original named Skodvin (Skøyen). It is linked to several Geocaching themes created for Oslo caches to link history and geography together:
1. The oldest farms of Oslo - existing and gone (by PPJ).
2. Oldtidsveien (Ancient Road).
There are several old roads which started here in Oslo in old days and continued up to Nidaros and Trondheim. These were parts of pilgrimage roads, but afterwards also for travel, postage, etc.
