You would be hard pressed to find a more inhospitable place on the planet than Starve Island. Beware, this one will be very tough and could be dangerous.
Starve Island is an extremely small island about 1000 meters off the southern shore of South Bass Island in Lake Erie. Legend has it that a body of a sailor who died of starvation was found on the island. Probably not true, but after you see the island I'm sure you'll agree that the name is still fitting.
IMPORTANT NOTES:
1.)This cache will require a boat.
2.)The island is surrounded by shallow, rocky shoals. Your boat must be made to run aground unexpectedly on rocks(plastic kayak, metal rowboat, etc.). Consult a marine depth chart if you are not familiar with Starve Island and it's shoals. Safest landing is the rocky beach on the Northwest side of the island.
3.) This island is home to about 200 seagulls. They will squack and circle the island while you are there. It's a little unsettling and you will get pooped on. In fact, the entire island is blanketed in bird poop. You will smell it about 20 meters from the island. It's nasty, but if you aren't scared away from the rocky shoals, I doubt a mountain of bird scat will bother you either.
As mentioned, the trip to this cache can be dangerous, so be prepared and learn as much as you can about Starve Island, South Bass Island, and Lake Erie before trying. If you are successful, you will achieve the ultimate reward: Two "Thumbs-up" from your's truly. Good luck and BE SAFE!
