This is a combination letterbox/geocache so the box contains items to trade as well as a stamp and log book. If you have a stamp, enter it in the book. I put in two separate log books, one for letterboxing and one for geocaching. The geocache is located in the Wayne-Washington Lookout Park in the Town of Stony Point. The land was purchased by the Open Space Institute and transferred to the town. It commemorates the spot where Generals Anthony Wayne and George Washington planned the attack on the British fort at Stony Point on July 6, 1779.Its a small park in the middle of a new housing development. Although the signs say that the roads leading to the park are private, I was assured by the Town Hall that the park is open to the public and you are allowed to drive on these roads; you are guests of the Town.Part of the challenge of this geocache is finding the park. Once you find the entrance it shouldn't take more than 15 minutes to find the cache. Park across from the park sign, if you can't find the sign you are in the wrong place. There is no need to cross private property to access this park.Use care when signing in, as it is close to the road and nearby houses. I hope you enjoy the view.
