Putting all my clothes on Traditional Geocache

This cache has been archived.

2 Leg Drive: Well, this is sad. Strangely of all the caches I've owned this was my favorite. It was a nice bit of bush, It had a few references to another cache from the early days of caching in Canberra and I made a big wooden box to protect the plastic container with. I guess the wooden box may have added to the fire.

This is the fourth cache of mine to be lost or damaged in a bush fire. Placing them in the bush means this will happen sometimes. Its taken me a while to learn that. Next time I place on it will have to be in an ammo box.

A funny story about this cache. I placed it to add a bit of humor to a few dark days in the early days of Canberra caching. There was a cache called Striptease in Hume. A difficult cache that I'd had a go at finding unsuccessfully. Unfortunately this cache was difficult for all the wrong reasons and it was not the first to be like it. It caused a lot of unnecessary stress and angst to the hopeful finders and the CO. The CO eventually gave up the game and I guess this was one of several reasons.

The CO had several unique and interesting ideas for caches around town and i found a few of them, There were several not so good ones and the interaction around these caused a lot of problems. If any one has bothered to read the log this far you may be interested to chat to MTBoz, Spindoctors or Tankengine if you see them out and about. I'm sure they will add a bit more colour to the story.

I will archive this cache now as the recent fire has damaged the bush land and it should be given time to repair its self with out a ftf derby for a new cache.

Thanks for watching, thanks for finding and thanks for walking in the bush. Choo choo.

BTW I hope this did not make any one anxious, nervous or do any thing irrational.

Geocache Description:

A cache that is not what it seems. [;)]

An area of Canberra bush land in between two main roads. While walking through the bush pause and have a think how good a job that nature does at covering things up. It covers the sky with leaves to catch the light, it covers the wood with bark to protect the sap, it also covers the ground with leaf litter to protect the dirt. From this vantage point it should become apparent why this cache its called putting all my clothes on.

I crossed a couple of bush tracks along the way but it should be safe for geokiddies because I didn't see any trains puffing along, not even with tourists. You could probably seek this cache at night time but it would be dark and you would not be able to see 3 feet in front of your nose.
