Geocache Description:

This cache continues to be a tribute to geocachers worldwide. Thanks to cachemates1, Kerstin and Gerald, and most recently, Dampfross for placing a new cache container. Please be careful to only remove the lid in order to retrieve the log. The container is not meant to be removed. Anyone travelling to Costa Rica that plans to do some geocaching really should try to take some sort of cache container and log book with them in order to help with cache maintenance. Pura Vida all!

This cache is in the gem of the fabulous Costa Rican National Park system, Manuel Antonio National Park on the Pacific Ocean. The view from the cache area is outstanding! There is an enterance fee to the park but it is a bargain for what you get. The listed coordinates take you up a trail to a spot close to a newly constructed observation deck on the Punta Catedral Point after a short hike into the park. Along the way you will be thrilled by the display of flora and fauna in this park where the forest comes right down to the ocean. the cache is located along the boardwalk and does not require you to search in the jungle. A single step off the path may be needed, but then again, maybe not. After enjoying the view from the (former) observation deck, be sure to continue on to the Playa Manuel Antonio Beach where the Pacific is warm and the beach is stunning white sand. Don't leave your things unattended for long while you swim, the monkeys love to go thru your things! There are guides for hire at the park enterance but you don't need them to see the wildlife, its everywhere. There is often people at the overlook taking pictures. Be patient and they will move on shortly, leaving you to your search.
