The first Paris Travel Bug Hotel was placed by Code_Zero in
August '03 in a most auspicious place--the base of the Eiffel
Tower. Unfortunately it vanished around late September, and the
travel bugs living there were arrested, questioned heavily by the
French gendarmerie, and deported. This cache is placed in memory of
those brave bugs who only wanted to see the world...
The Bois de Vincennes, located on the eastern edge of Paris, is
home to the Parc Zoologique, Parc Floral, a Buddhist temple, and
several miles of paths. It offers a nice, green escape from central
Paris, which can get a bit hectic. If coming by metro, use line 1
(Chateau de Vincennes) or line 8 (Porte Dorée).
The cache is a large, bowl-shaped Tupperware container with room
for all but the largest travel bugs. Stay on paths until you're
very, very close to the cache. Please replace and cover as found.
As in all urban areas, I recommend against searching for this
cache at night.
Guidelines:
- Please take/leave only travel bugs.
- If you don't have a travel bug to leave, don't take
one--TNLN!
- Make sure to log all travel bugs on the site.
