Geocache Description:

The Silver Creek Pathway is located along a scenic section of the Pine River in Lake County.

The Silver Creek Pathway is our favorite place to hike both summer and winter. The trail is a 4+ mile loop that follows both sides of the Pine River with bridges at the Lincoln Bridge Canoe Landing and Silver Creek Campground. The best way to the ammo box cache is to walk, snowshoe or canoe/kayak. If you choose to hike the entire loop, take a lunch or a snack and enjoy this beautiful pathway.Park at the Lincoln Bridge Canoe Landing off of State Rd. Cross over the foot bridge and walk up the road until you see the blue triangular pathway markers on your left. This is the start of the trail. You are on the west side of the river. The cache is about a .75 mile hike from the bridge. If you decide to take a shortcut and come in from State Road, plan on a very steep downhill and a deep wade across the Pine River. Parking at the canoe landing is much easier!
