A short walk with some ups and downs.
We parked at Steel Rigg car park (turn off for this opposite Twice Brewed) N 55 00.174 W 002 23.433 where there is also secure free parking for bicycles. There is quite an impressive view of the imposing Craggs and part of the Lough from the car park but the view of the Lough improves as you progress. If you go beyond the cache you will come to a wooded path and looking out over the Lough there is a strange phenomenon the likes of which we have never seen before, very intriguing. [There appears to be a permanent wave down the length of the Lough and we would be interested to know if anyone can tell us what causes this ]. If you follow the path beyond the cache take care as there are very steep drops close to the edge of the path in places. There is also erosion control in progress so please ensure that you look out for the signs and stay within the permissable boundaries.
